Kvitova hofft auf Comeback bei den French Open
Die zweimalige Wimbledonsiegerin Petra Kvitova (27) hofft knapp vier Monate nach ihrer bei einer Messerattacke erlittenen Handverletzung auf ein baldiges Comeback. Kvitova: „Langer Weg vor mir“
„Mein Name wird morgen auf der Startliste für Roland Garros erscheinen“, schrieb Kvitova: „Ich habe gute Fortschritte in meiner Reha gemacht und will mir jede Möglichkeit offen halten, an einem meiner Lieblingsturniere teilzunehmen. Leider bedeutet das aber nicht zwingend, dass ich in Paris schon spielen kann. Es liegt noch ein weiter Weg vor mir.“
Opfer einer Messlatte
Linkshänderin Kvitova war Ende Dezember in ihrem Appartement im tschechischen Prostejov überfallen und an der Schlaghand verletzt worden. Die fünfmalige Fed-Cup-Siegerin wurde anschließend vier Stunden lang operiert, dabei wurden Schädigungen an fünf Sehnen und zwei Nervensträngen behoben.
